Final V.U. Thoughts

Disk 4 of Final V.U. (discussed below) is definitely growing on me.

The lineup on that disk, recorded in May of '73, apparently didn't really want to be billed as The Velvet Underground is a pretty tight, bluesy little unit. In fact, the songs they perform from the Squeeze album, which has still never been released in this country, seem to be played with more energy and, as such, come across in many ways stronger than the original V.U. material. I need to get myself a copy of that album.

It also features the radio broadcasts of the show from the second disk, which are absolutely gorgeous with some really stunning and clear guitar work.
