Shallow Ground

I've been thinking about it quite a bit over the last few days, and I think my praise of Shallow Ground may have been more tepid than it deserved.

The movie was apparently shot for $72,000, but it looks as good as any low budget horror movie I've seen ever. The make-up effects are terrific. The acting is all very skilled. The music is effective.

But most importantly, it just creates a wonderfully creepy and evocative mood. It has a charmingly original story with interesting and not convoluted twist. It also has some of the most incredibly fascinating and haunting imagery. This moves beyond a movie you should pick up some time, if you're inclined. It's worth making the effort.
