Other recent movies

The Guru was a movie that came out just a little too soon. The advertising surrounding it made it seem like a generic indie comedy with little to make it stand out. It turns out, it's actually a wonderful and charming little comedy of errors with a huge Bollywood theme. If it had come out a year later, it could have caught the wind of the recent Bollywood hype. Definitely one to pick up when you're looking for something light and fun.

National Treasure wasn't nearly the abomonation I excpected it to be. Sure, it's obvious. Yes, it wants to come across as smarter than it is. But taken as a 12-year-old trying to impress you with how well it paid attention in history class, it's not a bad little romp. And Diane Kruger is a nice leading lady, she's mainstream attractive and plausibly intelligent. We need to see more of her.

Plus, I always enjoy references to the Knights Templar. Speaking of which, The Blind Dead Collection comes out next week. I'm geeked up on checking those out.

On the lineup for tonight/tomorrow night: Trauma by Dario Argento, which I haven't seen in years, and Danger: Diabolik by Mario Bava. Eurogenre yumminess all around.

Be good to each other, kids!
