If you're like me, and this could be a case where it's safe to bet you're not, the next couple of months are basically just a series of events to pass through, waiting to see Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut.
If that doesn't mean anything to you, this Wikipedia article on Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut could help out. Suffice it to say, the theatrical version of the movie has always been half my favorite cinematic Superman and half something confusing and wonky. This boils down to the movie being half-finished (actually more than half-finished) when Richard Donner, director of Superman: The Movie was taken off the project and replaced by Richard Lester.
I have nothing against Richard Lester, director of A Hard Day's Night, The Three and Four Musketeers and more, however his sensibility was much different and many places the two movies simply clash against each other wildly.
Here, however, is the first scene of the newly restored cut: Opening of Donner's Superman II. Enjoy.
Thanks to Vincent Pereira, who started this thread that pointed me to this.
