Hong Kong desire

Planet Hong Kong by David Bordwell, I find myself deeply jealous. I wish I could emulate the career of Tsui Hark at least as much as I've traditionally wanted to emulate the career of Roger Corman.

It seems, however, even in Hong Kong that kind of moviemaking is a thing of the past. I've gone over it before. Most of the people trying to kick out product in volume don't care about or understand basic principles of storytelling and moviemaking, while those who understand those things are happy at a much slower pace, which while it may help to keep the standard of quality higher, it makes them much less excitingly so...
