I suspect it's Meet New York City's Outdoor Co-Ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society by Jen Doll that inspired the recent surge of publicity that let us all know about The Outdoor Co-ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society.
Whatever it was, thank you.
Look, a group "making reading sexy" by going out and reading topless seems like a great idea. I can't believe no one thought of it before. The fact that they're reading "pulp fiction", notably a good lot of Hard Case Crime, is just icing on the cake of awesomeness.
Somebody needs to get branches started around the country. May I suggest Austin?
Christa Faust, author of Money Shot - which I wrote about in Money shot - and the upcoming sequel Choke Hold, shown in some of the The Outdoor Co-ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society pictures, posted this picture of a dress made from Hard Case Books. Your results may vary, but I thought it was pretty dang cool.
I'm in favor of all comers who want to make reading fun, sexy, cool or just plain interesting.
I've said it before, but I remember when there were so many books that there were crappy books everywhere. Crappy books for all tastes. So many that people felt they had the luxury to look down on some of them!
Can you imagine someone who felt they were so literate that they'd look down on anyone reading anything anymore? It sounds bizarre to even think of.
So, let's see more groups like this. Not all of them need to involve bare breasts... but hey, no complaints here! Get out there, make a show of reading and books and literacy.
Books are fun, sexy, cool and just plain interesting. Let's help people remember that... or, if needed, teach them that.
